Dorian White is the Founder and Instructor of the Scalp Health and Haircare Education Certification Program, where she trains hair professionals to confidently assess scalp conditions, understand product performance, and apply evidence-based recommendations in practice. She is a Certified Clinical Trichologist, Lead Trichologist & Consultant for haircare brands, and a Haircare Science Instructor with a background as a Research Scientist. She combines clinical trichology training, applied research experience, and industry consulting to advance evidence-based hair and scalp education for professionals.

Before entering the hair and scalp field, Dorian spent over eight years in scientific research, including more than four years at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Her background in applied research and data analysis shapes how she evaluates hair science and translates it into clear, actionable education.

She is an active member of the American Hair Research Society and the Association of Professional Trichologists, two leading organizations advancing standards in hair and scalp science.

In addition to her clinical and educational work, Dorian partners directly with haircare brands in a consulting capacity, supporting ingredient education, formulation guidance, and science-based product development. She helps teams translate research into real-world application across formulation, ingredient selection, and product claims, strengthening both product integrity and communication.

To date, Dorian has worked with over 350 haircare clients and SHHE students and has consulted for haircare companies seeking to align their products and messaging with scientific evidence.

The Hair Industry’s Missing Piece

Cosmetology school is phenomenal for those wanting to learn how to cut, color, style, or braid hair! But unfortunately, cosmetology programs do not educate on scalp health beyond its basic anatomy and physiology. The state of someone’s scalp health plays a major role in their overall hair experience. Stylists not only interact with their client’s scalps on a daily basis, but they are also in the unique position to influence and educate others on how to improve their scalp health.

Additionally, cosmetology programs have zero curriculum on haircare products, their ingredients, or how to correctly recommend haircare and scalpcare products to their hair clients. This is ironic considering that the vast majority of hair salons rely on haircare sales and stylists recommend products to their clients as they walk out the door.

To date, there is no continuing education program on haircare knowledge… UNTIL NOW!
