WHO IS DORIAN?

Hi, I’m Dorian White. I’m a USTI & AMCA Certified Clinical Trichologist, Lead Trichologist & Consultant for haircare brands, and a US Trichology Institute Haircare Science Instructor with a scientific foundation as a former Research Scientist. My specialty is evidence-based scalp and haircare education, where I combine advanced trichology training with deep product knowledge to help both individuals and professionals transform hair health from the root.​

​Before my work in the hair and scalp field, I spent over eight years in science- and research-related roles, including field work, laboratory research, and applied research environments. I worked as a Research Scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for over four years, contributing to professional scientific research and developing strong skills in methodology, data analysis, and evidence-based evaluation. I also studied at the University of Washington, where I developed foundational research skills that continue to inform how I interpret scientific literature and translate complex information into practical, accessible education. This experience underpins all of my work in hair and scalp science, allowing me to approach every client, class, and project with a rigorously scientific perspective.

 

I'm now a USTI & AMCA Certified Clinical Trichologist with advanced education in scalp health, hair biology, and hair loss disorders. My clinical training was completed through the US Trichology Institute (USTI), the only accredited institution in North America focused on evidence-based hair and scalp science. The three-part program included in-depth study of scalp conditions, hair fiber structure, and the physiological factors that influence hair growth and loss.

In addition to my clinical certification, I serve as a Haircare Science Instructor through the Scalp Health and Haircare Education Certification Program, which I developed and now teach at USTI. I train licensed cosmetologists and beauty professionals to approach hair and scalp concerns using scientific principles rather than trends or misinformation. In this role, I cover topics such as cosmetic ingredient function, scalp biology, and evidence-based product selection to support safe and effective client outcomes.

Beyond education, I serve as a Consulting Expert and Lead Trichologist for select haircare brands, guiding formulation, product development, research interpretation, and content creation to produce evidence-based marketing strategies. This experience allows me to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application in professional haircare. I partner with brands, institutes, non-profits, programs, and companies to help teams understand hair and scalp biology, develop credible claims, and translate complex science into clear, engaging communication.

I hold multiple certifications in hair loss, hormones, environmental toxins, cellular aging, and functional blood chemistry, and I’m a proud member of the Association of Professional Trichologists and the American Hair Research Society, two leading organizations shaping the future of scalp health and trichology worldwide. I’ve also been a Market Partner with Monat since 2020, a clinically backed, results-driven haircare company, to support lasting scalp and hair improvements for hundreds of personal clients.

To date, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients and mentees directly, taught over 75 students inside the SHHE Certification Program, and reached thousands more through my digital resources, consultations, and educational offers. With an online community of over 145,000 across platforms, my content has reached millions worldwide. I’m deeply passionate about cutting through misinformation in the hair industry and delivering education that is thoroughly researched, clearly explained, and grounded in science.
